Gastronomy and typical wines: Senigallia, destination for enogastronomic holidays.
During your holidays in Senigallia you will be able to enter a world of typical tastes and flavors, both from the sea and land.
The gastronomic roots of Senigallia are rooted in the fishing done every day in the Adriatic Sea and therefore in the local catch. The grilled fish and the mixed fried fish, famous dishes of the seafaring tradition of Senigallia, are not to be missed. Then there is the ever-present Brodetto, another famous dish of the city.
The original recipe calls for 13 different types of fish, cooked together with onion and tomato.
A good white wine, such as Verdicchio di Jesi or Bianchello del Metauro, should be served with these fish dishes.
If, on the other hand, you prefer a cuisine based on the land, do not miss the roast goose or the tasty porchetta with wild fennel, to be enjoyed with a good glass of Conero red wine.
Absolutely unmissable are the vincisgrassi, a first course made of thin layers of egg pasta, enriched by a sauce with duck or wild boar ragù.
You should also try the typical pecorino cheeses and the famous sausages such as Salame di Fabriano and Ciauscolo, very tasty salami to be spread on bread.
Among the most famous desserts you will find doughnut, to be paired with the sweet sour cherry wine.
