Lacrima di Morro d’Alba has an intense ruby red color with remarkable and evident purple hues.
When tasting it, a delicate and characteristic vinous aroma of fermenting vine can be noticed, while, with aging, tones turn to fruity-floral typical of strawberry, cherry, blackberries, blueberries, and violet.
Quite full-bodied and with a dry taste, the wine matches divinely with typical local products such as cold cuts, pasta dishes based on tomato sauces and poultry sauces. Contrary to a widespread trend, it also goes well with some marinated appetizers or some types of brodetto.
The production area originally included only the municipality of Morro d’Alba (Ancona), but today it has also been extended to neighboring municipalities such as Belvedere Ostrense, Monte San Vito, Ostra, San Marcello and Senigallia.
The Lacrima di Morro d’Alba wine is also produced in the Superiore version.
