Nestled on one of the characteristic hills of the Marche landscape, in a panoramic location overlooking the Misa valley, about 14 km from Senigallia, Ostra is a town of Roman origin surrounded by walls dating back to the 14th century.
Originally known as Monte Bodio, or Montalboddo, it kept this name until 1881. Also popular for its antiques market, Ostra can be visited by taking a walk around the historic walls as far as the lovely La Vittoria Theater and the seventeenth-century temple of the Madonna della Rosa.
